The policeman did not immediately realize that a criminal was in his car.

On January 18, employees of the Karma district police department were told that a car had been stolen in Rahachou. The suspect profile was directed to all departments of the region, the Department of Internal Affairs of the Homel Regional Executive Committee reports.

On the same day, a police ensign after the service decided to go to visit his parents in Rahachou. He went by his car. On the way, he learned about the theft from colleagues and, after some time, noticed a car standing at the curb. In the dark, he couldn’t figure out the brand, but called the traffic police and reported on the car.

Having driven about fifty meters, in the headlights he saw a man flagging down a car, stopped and agreed to give a lift. Already on the way, the policeman was called by his colleagues and told that there was the car that they were looking for at that curb. The police officer, in response, dropped a hint that he was driving not alone, but with a possible offender.

At the entrance to Rahachou, the car was stopped by the traffic police. Under the guise of checking documents, the driver and the passenger were asked to leave the car. The latter began to resent, saying that he was going home from his grandmother. At that point, operatives arrived. Seeing that the situation was not developing according to the scenario and no one believes in the story about the grandmother, the guy confessed of the theft.

The non-working 24-year-old Rahachou resident was detained. Investigators opened a criminal case against him.
