"Basta!": Integration Between Belarus And Russia Is Like Integration Between Bird And Cage

Belarusians are concerned about the "integration" games of the rulers of Belarus and Russia.

Subscribers of the Basta telegram channel increasingly draw attention in their letters to the growing threat of losing even the formal independence of the country, which is currently in place. We publish one of the letters:

- Throughout the whole period of his malignant usurpation, Lukashenka has been using the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus as a gin from a magic lamp: it served only his interests and whims, and fulfilled only his wishes, humiliatingly bowing under his decrees and laws. For a quarter of a century, the permanent chairman has been cynically setting at naught the freedom, dignity, identity and legitimate Constitution of Belarus and finally, in his old age, wants (or rather he is forced out) to give it all up. But it's not just to abandon to the whims of fate, progress and happiness of self-determination, but to sell it, to surrender it to Russia, to be used by the leaders of the Moscow Kremlin. And this sneaky sacrifice of the whole country, with people and the whole social, economic and infrastructural schmeer, has been slylyly called "integration" by traitors and purchasers. And in particular, at this stage - "deep integration".

Someone will ask in a conspiratorial voice: "Why "integration"? And he will immediately receive an answer: "So that no one will twig!"

Let's put aside false illusions: integration of Belarus and Russia is like integration of a bird and a cage. Moreover, it is incomparably easier to get into it than to get out afterwards.

We all risk to suddenly turn from hostages of the dictator into slaves and political fertilizer of the neighbor. Needless to say that all things being equal, hostages always have a better chance of being freed. It is possible to outlive Lukashenka in silence and peacefully, but definitely it will be impossible to leave the Russian captivity peacefully.

This whole operation is especially dangerous because of the insidious tactics of its embodiment. Graduality, backrooming, dressing up with the help of professional lying rhetoric. As a result, they will bring a real national catastrophe into our common home with this Trojan horse. And if that happens, no one from today's residents will see a solution to the problem. It took Poland 120 years to get rid of the Russian yoke.

We must tell ourselves with determination and frankness: Belarus is us and our children. Our present and future. Our freedom, limited by the dictatorial marazmus and crumpled by the riot police and churches in civilian clothes. It is a small but still a living and real freedom. We must save it.
