New Deputy Head Of Lukashenka's Administration Appointed

He used to be the director of the Institute of Economics of the NAS of Belarus.

Today, Lukashenka has appointed Valeryj Belski deputy head of his administration, BelTA informs.

Earlier Valeryj Belski was director of the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences.

Valeryj Belski was born in 1968 in the village of Dziavoshychy (Bialynichy district). In 1993, he graduated from the Belarusian Agricultural Academy, specializing in "Economics and Management in Agriculture".

In 1993-1995 he worked as Chief Economist of the Kalinauski state farm in the Bialynichy district.

In 1995-1997, he was a postgraduate student at the Belarusian Research Institute of Economics and Information of the Agricultural Sector.

1997-1998 - researcher at the Belarusian Research Institute of Economics and Information of the agro-industrial complex.

From 1998 to 2001, he was head of the pricing sector at the Belarusian Research Institute of Economics and Information of the Agricultural Sector (later renamed the Belarusian Research Institute of Agrarian Economics and then the Belarusian Research Republican Institute of Agrarian Economics).

2001-2005 - Deputy Director for Research, First Deputy Director of the Research Republican Institution "Belarusian Scientific Research Institute of Agrarian Economics" (renamed into state scientific institution "Institute of Agrarian Economics of the NAS of Belarus" in March 2003).

From February to December 2005 - Acting Director of the Institute of Agrarian Economics of the NAS of Belarus. In 2006-2008, after reorganization of the institution into the Center for Agrarian Economics, he served as First Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus - Director of the Center for Agrarian Economics.

In June 2008, he became Acting Director of the Institute of Systemic Research in the Agrarian Sector of the National Academy of Sciences. Then in August he became director and headed the institution until 2012.

2012-2015 - Assistant Member of the Board (Minister) on Industry and Agrarian Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

In 2015-2016, he was rector of the Institute of Training of Scientific Personnel of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

From 2016 to the present time, he served as Director of the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences.
