The World Media Wrote About the Possible Involvement of Baskau and Shakuta in Raman Bandarenka's Murder
DMzITRY BASKau AND DzMITRY SHAKUTA IN THE SQUARE OF CHANGE

Swedish and Finnish newspapers published pages dedicated to the events on the Square of Changes.

The death of Raman Bandarenka received wide publicity not only in Belarus but also abroad. They are already aware of the possible participants in the unfortunate evening: the head of the BIHF Dzmitry Baskau and kickboxer Dzmitry Shakuta, reports Tribuna.

On Wednesday, four Swedish newspapers at once came out with pages dedicated to the Belarusian events. The headline for the morning Svenska Dagsbladet reads: "Hockey manager accused of fatal assault."

About the same words on the page came out material in the morning edition of Dagens Nyheter. "The hockey manager of Belarus is accused of involvement in the fatal beating," the Swedish media reported.

"Chairman linked to death," is the headline seen on the evening Expressen.

The Aftonbladet newspaper, which hit the shelves in the evening, even put on the page a photo of a man who looks like Baskau. "He watched the fatal beating," the newspaper says.

Interestingly, at the end of October, the head coach of the Swedish national ice hockey team, Juhan Garpenlov, announced that he did not want to play in Belarus at the upcoming World Cup 2021.

"If you are interested in my personal opinion, then I think that we should not play in Belarus. But I am an employee of the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation, so I will fly wherever they see fit. I cannot influence where the championship will or will not take place. I just proceed from the fact that it will be, and in Belarus or another country - we will see later," the expert said in an interview with the already mentioned Aftonbladet.

They also talk about the death of Bandarenka in Finland. On Wednesday, Iltalehti came out with the headline "Belarusian hockey boss suspected of involvement in the murder - he broke the silence, but the choice of words is surprising."

Finland is also not particularly eager to go to the Belarusian World Cup-2021. The most recent statement came from the Minister of Sports of this country.

"We are preparing a statement by EU ministers that the competition should not be held in Belarus. We are proactive here. From the point of view of Finland, the problem of security comes first and foremost here," said Annika Saarikko.

Note that Finland is ready to host the World Cup in its arenas if the IIHF transfers the next planetary championship from Belarus.
