In the third quarter of 2020, term deposits of individuals in Belarusian banks decreased by 1.2 billion rubles (6.5%) and amounted to 17.62 billion rubles as of October 1.

This is reported by the site naviny.by with reference to the analytical review "Know Your Client," prepared by the National Bank (NBB).

Deposits in national currency amounted to 4.68 billion rubles and decreased since June by 462 million rubles (9%).

Deposits in foreign currency (in ruble equivalent) amounted to 12.94 billion rubles and decreased since June by 758 million rubles (5.5%).

According to the NBB report, the decrease in deposits was mainly due to female clients.

According to the National Bank, women over 55 years old and men between 26 and 60 years old most often place deposits in commercial banks.

The NBB survey involved 23 out of 24 commercial banks in Belarus.
