In Slonim, Cathedral Rector Dies Due to Coronavirus

The priest died at the age of 84.

As a result of coronavirus infection, at the age of 84, the rector of the Transfiguration Cathedral of the city of Slonim, Mitred Archpriest Viktor Bokovets, has died, the BOC reported.

"Until the last years of Father Viktor's ministry, many parishioners flocked to the Transfiguration Cathedral for spiritual help. He brought many back to life and guided them to the path of salvation through his gracious prayers," the message reads.

The Transfiguration Cathedral was badly damaged during the war; in 1963, it was blown up, and only the foundation remained. With the blessing and with the help of the ruling bishop, parishioners of the church, and caring people, Father Viktor worked hard to recreate it.
