Lithuanian customs officials found 32,504 packs of contraband cigarettes during an X-ray examination of gambling tables being transported to the Netherlands.

The goods, valued at more than 117 thousand euros, were transported by a citizen of Belarus. He arrived at the Šalčininkai post in an Iveco truck on September 29 and said that he was transporting the gaming tables in transit through Lithuania to the Netherlands.

The customs officers decided to check the car using an X-ray. It turned out that the tables were full of cigarette packs. The driver was detained for two days and then released with the confiscation of documents and on recognizance not to leave, the Lithuanian customs office reports.
