Hundreds Of Thousands Of Belarusians Standing Under Windows Of Lukasheka’s Palace

It's hard to sleep peacefully when in every ministry, executive committee, in every plant and factory they opposed you.

I watched some excerpts of yesterday's speech by Lukashenka, which he made when committing some unlawful personnel movements, writes Artsiom Praskalovich, a former employee of Lukashenka’s administration.

Once again, the dictator paid a lot of attention to the opposition. I don’t remember the Blue-Fingered Man caring about the “zmagars” for so long after the date of the election. What does this tell us? That Belarusians are succeeding in everything. Slowly. But it’s true.

I just thought about it and immediately saw a note in Nasha Niva about another video by Maxim Katz.

“Please note: there has been no street activity for a year. All NGOs, human rights organizations, and independent media were destroyed. And Lukashenka looks and behaves as if hundreds of thousands of people are still standing under his windows, as if he is still running around with a machine gun.”

Yes, Maxim is generally on the side of democratic reforms. Yes, you can make some allowance for his bias towards the situation in Belarus. But certainly he and you and I will not be able to call white black and conclude that Lukashenka feels comfortable.

Imagine, he not only lost, but for more than a year he cannot even create the semblance of victory, traditional for himself. Despite the fact that all the forces are thrown into this:

the Ministry of Internal Affairs canceled the assessment of the results of work on combating crime - the priority is only work on social and political issues;

purges continue in the government agencies and organizations, curators from among the security forces are appointed everywhere;

everything that is not state propaganda is recognized as extremism, and anyone who has eyes and ears can become an extremist.

It’s hard to sleep peacefully when, suddenly, every ministry, executive committee, every plant and factory was not afraid to oppose you, although you have asked not to do that for 26 years.

It's hard to keep your balance when no one else is fooled by your lies and is not going to turn the page.

It is impossible to rule when millions of Belarusians stand behind you as an invisible shadow with hatred in their eyes and anger in their hearts.
