Head of the European Council to the Belarusian Authorities: Free All Political Prisoners

Brussels sent a powerful signal to the Lukashenka regime.

The head of the European Council Charles Michel commented on the approval of the fourth package of sanctions against the Lukashenka regime. According to him, the European Union has sent another strong signal of support to the people of Belarus by introducing further restrictive measures.

“Our message to the regime cannot be misunderstood: release all political prisoners, stop further repression, start an inclusive national dialogue,” Michel wrote on Twitter.

Today, the EU External Affairs Council approved the fourth package of sanctions, which covers 86 individuals and organizations from Belarus. Also, foreign ministers of the countries gave the green light to sectoral sanctions.
