Polish Security Service Detained a Belarusian on Charges of Espionage

A Russian citizen is also detained.

Polish intelligence detained a Belarusian and a Russian citizen in Bialystok on charges of espionage, reports TVP.

Both detainees have been living in Poland for a long time. According to the media, they were collecting information about military units and their location, equipment, personnel, and units of allies.

"The Russian and the Belarusian, who acted in the interests of Russian intelligence against Poland, carried out activities consisting of intelligence on the functioning of the Polish Armed Forces," said Stanislav Zaryn, spokesman for the minister coordinating the work of Polish intelligence services.

Prosecutor's Office charged the detainees with espionage. They face up to 10 years in prison.
