Over Bakhmut, Ukrainian border guards shot down an enemy attack aircraft that was covering Russian infantry troops.

The State Border Service of Ukraine reported.

They said that the enemy fighter was conducting aerial coverage of the infantry advancing on the line of defence against Ukrainian defenders.

The border guards opened fire from a portable anti-aircraft missile system and shot down a Russian combat aircraft, previously a Su-25. The jet caught fire and crashed after a missile hit, the fate of the pilot is still unknown.

As the Charter97.org website previously reported, the Ukrainian military destroyed 25 Russian tanks in 48 hours.
