‘Edik Went Out And Shot Fifteen Russians With Single Shots’
Eduard Lobau

The mother of the heroic Belarusian volunteer told about his last fight.

Belarusian volunteer Eduard Lobau died on January 26, defending the Ukrainian city of Vuhledar. The fighter of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade has been fighting in Ukraine since 2015.

The mother of the Belarusian volunteer Maryna Lobava remembers her heroic son together with Belsat.

“When the war started, he wrote to me that everything is fine and everything is calm, he simply did not have an Internet connection. Only later I found out that Edik was in flashpoints near Kyiv, then Chornobyl, he defended Hostomel, then fought near Bakhmut and Vuhledar,” Maryna Lobava says.

“I have not yet spoken to the junior sergeant rescued by Edik. He managed to carry the wounded from a battlefield. I know from the words that I was told from him that the battle dragged on for a long time. Edik went out and shot fifteen Russians with single shots. Then they entered in-close fighting and he wanted to disable a Russian tank with the Javelin. Then he had a shrapnel wound. They could not take him out for a long time because of the close fighting, the paramedics could not come up. Maybe if they had managed to pick up Edik earlier, they could have saved him,” the mother of the Belarusian volunteer told about his last battle.
