This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, reports Radio Azatutyun.

"This has never been said out loud, but I think it is evident: we are not an ally of Russia in the war with Ukraine. And our feeling about this war, about this conflict, is concern because it directly affects all our relations," he said.

Pashinyan said Yerevan is vulnerable because it is not an ally of either Russia or Ukraine in the war.

"The West notes that we are an ally of Russia. And in Russia they see that we are not an ally in the war with Ukraine. And it turns out that we are nobody's ally in this situation, which means we are vulnerable," he said.

The prime minister added that Armenia has many worries of its own to get involved in solving other people's problems.

"There seems to be a way to manoeuvre between all these confrontations, yet it is also true that the more difficult the situation becomes, the more the possibility of manoeuvring narrows. We are manoeuvring not because we don't have an opinion on the situation, but because unfortunately we have too many concerns, which prevents us from being more involved in dealing with other people's concerns," said Pashinyan.

Armenia's Neutrality

Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Yerevan has taken a neutral stand in the war. At the same time, the Armenian authorities expressed hope that Kyiv and Moscow would be able to resolve their disagreements. However, Yerevan declared its readiness to accept Ukrainian refugees.
