A military expert explained what could be behind drone attacks on the Russian capital.

Speaking on Radio NV, Oleksandr Musienko, head of the Centre for Military and Legal Studies, explained the implications of the second drone strike on the government quarter in Moscow.

"Unfortunately, it is not Moscow, but the whole of Russia that is fighting against Ukraine. Of course, this will have an impact on a certain category of residents there. It will have a psychological effect," Musienko notes.

But he thinks it would be better if the strikes on Moscow City had a different purpose.

"I would like to believe that they have a more far-reaching goal - not to intimidate the residents of some neighbourhoods or ministry employees. But to create and study corridors for the passage of air defence systems, including in Moscow, in such a way as to hit really quite important objects. And in addition to the psychological effect, we will also have a practical effect - by destroying the targets we need," Musiyenko added.
