Person Who Sent Ukrainian Flag Into Skies Over Occupied Donetsk Becomes Known

The Ukrainian flag, which appeared in the sky over occupied Donetsk in the morning of September 9, was launched by Ukrainian defenders. The blue and yellow banner was seen by thousands of people in the occupied territory, and the Russian invaders tried to shoot it down in panic.

The flag was launched in honor of Avdiivka City Day. It flew towards occupied Donetsk, said the head of the Avdiivka city military administration, Vitaly Barabash, on the тtelethon.

“Today is the 245th anniversary of the founding of Avdiivka. We started the day with activity — we launched the national flag on balloons into the sky. It flew to Donetsk. We're already hearing interceptions, they're getting a little mad about it. They tried to shoot it down. But the national flag is already flying over the Kyivsky district of Donetsk,” he said.
