Mikalai Autukhovich: “Nobody can intimidate me”

The political prisoner writes that he is ready to everything and not going to change his views.

At the end of June Mikalai Autukhovich had a date with his mother and sister. “Everything was good, though mother didn’t manage to transfer anything. At first, she was allowed to bring fruits and vegetables, and she bought 30 kilograms of everything. But none of this was taken. I received a letter from her – she really cares about me and is really upset that she has been so deceived. This is the worst news”, - wrote the political prisoner in one of his last letters which is quoted by the Human Rights Center “Viasna”.

He writes that his health is “as normal as possible”. He doesn't like to complain, even if there are problems.

Regarding the conditions in prison, Autukhovich writes that they are relative. “If you know History, then it’s easy to imagine how it was in prisons before. If to compare with Scandinavian prisons, - then our people lives worse than in their jails. In regard to everything: rights, money. I always compare Belarusian prisons with Nazi concentration camp and feel that I’m in heaven. Everything is fine, but I do not wish such challenges to anyone”
