Grodnozhilstroi on strike: How to feed family on 3 million rubles?

Several shops of Grodnozhilstroi construction enterprise stopped working today at 7 in the morning.

Workers, who received wages yesterday, refused to work and demanded a salary increase.

Witnesses report that about a hundred of workers delegated by different shops asked to meet with director general Aleh Ushkevich. Halina Kandratsyeva, the head of the trade union committee on Grodnozhilstroi, said the workers managed to talk to executives, who promised to raise wages. Workers of the reinforcement shop are reported to have resorted to similar measures a month ago. They were assured their wages would be increased, but it has not be done yet. They complained today that 3mn wages are not enough for hard work. “I work in a stock and transportation shop. My wage does not exceed 2 million. I don't know how to feed my family,” a worker says. The workers were in their shops at 10:30, but it is unknown whether they start working.
