A spontaneous protest of “Pinskdrev" workers

More than a hundred of workers are quitting the official trade union.

Workers are outraged by ridiculously low salary for the last month. Disagreed workers gathered for a spontaneous protest and decided to quit the official trade union. About a hundred of statements were written at once. Then – 150, the statements are being collected even now, then they will be conveyed to “Pinskdrev” CEO Alexander Sudnik, reports “Radio Racyja”.

The protest is taking place in one of structural departments of the holding company "Pinskdrev", on the factory of veneer and furniture.

The situation with the protest was commented by a worker Dmitry:

- The workers’ economic situation is so hard now, when the salaries, comparing to what they are doing, are so small. Literally today people received their payslips, look at them, and all hands just fell.  Because that money they are paying us is a mockery. People need to feed their families, to eat themselves, to pay the credits. And that is not only impossible, but this drives people to some commitments because of loans etc.

Dmitry noted that dissatisfaction among the workers already existed for some time, but people were holding up to the last, were trying to appeal to the CEO, were trying to believe in better times after the resignation of Laurent Arinich and investigation on the case about the explosion  on the factory. As the worker noted, rumors about the expressed protest are spreading across the whole holding, and there are a lot of those who wants to join.
