(being updated) Smorgon court sentences the participators of the rally in memory of Rastislau Lapitski.

As the website charter97.org reported previously, on September 2 were detained three artists of the association "Pagonya": Gennady Drazdou, Ales Tsirkunou, Ales Pushkin and local artist Valiantsin Varanischa, and also an activist Vladimir Shulzhitsky.

Police detained the artists when they were carrying portraits of Rastislau Lapitski, the head of anti-Communist underground in the postwar years.

On September 3, Ales Tsirkunou was sentenced to a fine of one million rubles. Trials of the remaining detainees have been postponed.

Today at 11 a.m. the artists came to the court with three new paintings depicting Rastislau Lapitski. The first was Gennady Drazdou. He was fined for 3 million rubles. Valiantsin Varanischa  was sentenced for a fine of 1 million rubles. Vladimir Shulzhitsky - for 3 million rubles.

The trial of Ales Pushkin again postponed. He will be judged on 24 September, as the artist has not had time to see his case.
