The government of Belarus decided not to comment on the arrest of Vladislav Baumgertner, the chairman of the BPC Supervisory Board.

“The government do not comment this situation so far,” Interfax-West news agency heard from Volha Douhaya, a spokesperson for the Belarusian PM.

“The situation at the current stage is in the competence of the law-enforcement and investigative agencies,” she stressed.

Vladislav Baumgertner was arrested in Minsk yesterday after a meeting with Belarusian prime minister Mikhail Miasnikovich. Uralkali CEO arrived in Minsk at the written invitation of the Belarusian PM. The same invitations were sent to chairman of Uralkali' Board of Directors Alexander Voloshin and company's shareholder Suleyman Kerimov, but they didn't come.
