Explosion at shooting range kills one, injures five

A teacher of the Military Academy of Belarus was killed and five students were wounded.

The news was received from the press service of the Ministry of Defence.

“On September 13, 2013, a teacher of the Military Academy received mortal wounds and five students received wounds of varying severity as a result of an uncontrolled explosion of a TNT stick during a lesson in military engineering at the shooting range,” the press release says.

The injured people are receiving medical attention.

“The killed lieutenant colonel Listapad Barys had 20 years experience in handling explosives.

Details of the accident are being figured out,” the Ministry of Defence reports.
