Roman Bezsmertny: Lukashenka will enter in war with Ukraine

Moscow will force Minsk to enter the armed conflict.

Such a statement has been made by the former Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus (2010-2011), the chairman of the Third Ukrainian Republic party Roman Bezsmertny to “Belorusskie novosti”.

- Is Ukraine viewing Belarus as a potential ally, a neutral state or a possible enemy? Notably Belarus is the key and the only military and political ally of Russia.

- Ukrainians set a really high value on the relations with Belarusians. But the both societies should understand clearly: it could be talked much about brotherhood and unity, but one shot will be enough for the brotherhood to turn into enmity.

The establishment, the elite and officials leaders of the states should think about that even more. And I ask myself a question here: are the relations of 9 and 45 million people worth to be exchanged for cheap oil, gas and other Russian preferences? Please give thought to this question.

Soon Belarus is to face a choice: whether the Belarusian and the Ukrainian nations are to stay as close as today, or to become an enemy of Ukraine after receiving gas and oil a few dollars cheaper? I do not have any doubts that sooner or later Putin will spur Lukashenka to entering an armed conflict with Ukraine. There are no more stops for Putin, he has passed the station where he could have stopped.

- That is, Moscow will demand Minsk to enter into an open war with Kyiv?

- Definitely so. There is no other option for Putin, except pushing Lukashenka into a conflict with Ukraine. Putin is turning into a tiger in a cage, which is getting narrower, and can squeeze him to death.

- In which way could the official Minsk avoid being drawn into the war, and are the Belarusian authorities able to do so?

- In the framework of associations the Belarusian leadership had entered into, they do not have a brake in their hands. Your country is open today, and it would not be able to withstand the pressure of the Kremlin. That is why even as we speak, without delay both Kazakhstan and Belarus should raise the question of changing the rules inside the Eurasian community, and Belarus also within the Union state.

Today Minsk should consider how to diversify all the blood circulatory systems by which it is attached to Moscow. The situation in the Russian economy is going to deteriorate. It means that the Kremlin will bring up an issue of price rise. In other words, by allocating the resources in the framework of the Eurasian Union, Russia is to steal money both from Belarusians and Kazakhs.

I do not exclude that at a certain stage Belarus would simply have to break off relations with Russia. Today the Russian society is preparing for war.
