Residents of high-rise building in Homel have water charge increased in 5 times

Residents collected signatures and addressed the management of public utilities in Homel Regional Executive Committee and the State Control Committee.

Readers of "Komsomolskaya Pravda in Belarus" addressed the editorial office: they have dramatically increased the charge for heating cold water. Residents of the house of about 600 apartments at Kozhara Street, 1 in Homel are outraged with a sharp and groundless price increase for water.

-We have usually paid for heating not more than Br20 000 per month. But in January we were required more than Br70 000 for the same water flow rate, while the tariff increased in total by Br5 000. Moreover, other tenants with the same water flow rate received bills for 100, 150 and 170 000! pensioners say.

The cash settlement center answered: Water is expensive now! However, the official response has cleared something up:

The counter was removed to repair so the total water consumption was divided among all the apartments.

But it was not explained why one should pay 70 and another Br170 000. And they did not promise to do recalculation. Therefore, the residents collected signatures and addressed the management of public utilities in Homel Regional Executive Committee and the State Control Committee.
