Journalist Ihar Barysau’s computer and notepads confiscated

The search in the apartment of Ihar Barysau from Mahilyou lasted for 3 hours.

He is suspected of a defamation of Lenta Joint Stock Company, Radio Svaboda informs.

Policemen have seized three computers, a modem and notepads belonging to Ihar Barysau.

The journalist is an editor of Nash Mogilev (Our Mahilyou) website. The reason of the search was a criminal case opened against him on charges relating Article 188 of the Criminal Code (“Defamation in a public statement in mass media”).

Law-enforcers have complaints against one of the articles posted at Nash Mogilev website, which informed that the chief executive director of Mahilyou-based Lenta company had lost a lot of money in a casino.
