Belarusians Start Celebrating Freedom Day Around World

Last Sunday the events dedicated to Freedom Day started in diasporas in different cities and countries.

On March 25, Belarusians around the world celebrate their main holiday - Freedom Day. This is how the people call the anniversary of declaring the independence of the Belarusian People's Republic, our first national state, in 1918. The main flag at that time was white-red-white, the coat of arms - "Pahonia", and the Belarusian language received the status of the state language.

On March 24, festive events dedicated to Freedom Day were held in many cities around the world.

In Warsaw, Belarusians marched through the city centre. The finale of the event was a concert on Castle Square with the participation of Pit Paulau, the bands of Dzieciuki, The Superbullz, Atesta, Belarusian Truestory and others.

Bialystok hosted a rally-concert on Kosciuszko Square with the participation of Katsiaryna Vadanosava, Ihar Palynski and the band of Kurwadziki, as well as a performance of the historical reconstruction club of Invictus 1863. Deputy President of Bialystok Rafał Rudnicki congratulated Belarusians on Freedom Day. He spoke about the happy future of Belarus when it becomes a good neighbour to Poland, a democratic land recognised by the international community.
