Something Happening To Belarus' Ambassador To Russia
DZMITRY KRUTY

He makes one inadequate statement after another.

Evil tongues like to accuse the leadership of Belarus of inadequacy. They say that Lukashenka and Kachanava are making very strange statements, and Halouchanka is not a paragon of rational perception of reality.

And the complicated situation with the Belarusian ambassador to Russia somehow remains on the periphery of attention. One cannot recognise Dzmitry Kruty lately, writes Salidarnasts.

Judge for yourself.

First. Summer 2023: the ambassador said that Belarus could build its own river fleet in Russia... "its own river fleet".

You may say "it happens", "well, he blurted it out - these things happen". But Kruty did not stop there. Last autumn he returned to the topic, saying that it was possible to "revive Belarusian competences in the shipbuilding industry".

Second. January 2024. Kruty said he had discussed with Primorye Governor Oleg Kozhemyako the idea of building a "fully Belarusian port" in Primorsky Krai. He said that Belarus' own port in this Russian region would become an important element of the transit route to China.

If you open a map, you can see that Primorsky Krai is 7 thousand kilometres away from our country. That's twice the distance from Belarus to Portugal, the westernmost territory of continental Europe....

Third. The ambassador said that Belarus is considering "the possibility of participating in a programme to build a nuclear-powered fleet, which will ensure appropriate navigation in difficult weather conditions."

Kruty's idea: Belarusian goods can be transported to China via the Northern Sea Route. For this purpose it is only necessary to build ships with nuclear power plants to break through the ice of the Arctic Ocean.

You've got it, right? The ambassador to the Russian Federation believes that Belarus can build in Russia its river fleet, icebreakers and a seaport at the side of China....

Fourth. March 2024. Dzmitry Kruty stated that "union integration measures" will increase Belarus' GDP by $eight billion.

Just we remind you that our country's economy has been stagnating for a decade, and its GDP has been hovering around the figure of $70 billion. In addition, now not only the economy of Belarus, but also the economy of Russia are under unprecedented sanctions.

...It's difficult to give a clear statement regarding the situation with Dzmitry Kruty. His statements, such as those listed above, sometimes resemble anecdotes. If you put it mildly.
