Javier Solana: «Dialogue could help move Belarus forward in her development»

EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana welcomes the organizing of the European March in Minsk and declares that the intention of the opposition to build a genuine dialogue with the authorities is an important and constructive step. The EU High Representative considers unacceptable the people to be imprisoned for displaying EU symbols or for expressing their political views. “Concrete co-operation needs to be based on shared values”, - Javier Solana declared in the exclusive interview to Charter’97 press centre.

трэба ісці да лепшага і прыклад браць з лепшых - у ЕЎРОПУ !!! ЖЫВЕ БЕЛАРУСЬ !!!

ReplyFrom all that is printed It appears the president of Belarus now plays with a scale. On one side is the EU, on the other Russia.
For years the peoples of the world have read about his tactics within Belarus. Which have been liken a child wanting the whole cake and then devouring it wholly by himself. Leaving only crumbs for the multitude to scurry after.
Now this child has matured into the 21st century and he must make choices which he knows no longer includes cake only for himself. He must now include in his decisions a whole piece of cake for all those under his dome. How will he manage this, we watch the scale.
Will it be the old way of Russia, which has never given a hoot about the citizens of Belarus. Or will he see a new way, a way which could possibly turn him into a great leader, a leader who embraced the EU. An embrace which for the first time in many decades could greatly help lift all his citizens into 21st century prosperity.
