German concern refused to cooperate with Gomselmash

German concern Claas refused to cooperate with concern Gomselmash in establishing a joint production of combine harvesters on the basis of harvester Lexion, General Chief Executive of the concern Valery Zhmailik said a t a press-conference held in Gomel.

“Last week we held talks with concern Claas in Germany and they refused to cooperate with Gomselmash on the machines Lexion,” V.Zhmailik said. He remarked that the company had elaborated and tested the new harvester. German harvester Lexion was the prototype for this machine. Moreover, the machine was assembled with parts supplied by Claas.

“There’ll be no joint venture with Claas. We are interested in cooperation with foreign companies, but we will not promote their product in our market, while the German partners want to establish an assembly joint venture to promote their brand in the Belarusian market,” the Chief Executive said.
