New arrests for distribution of information about disappeared politicians

An activist of the civil campaign “European Belarus” Yury Pleshkou has been detained today near Yakub Kolas Square.

The young oppositionist was handing out leaflets with information about leaders of oppositions Viktar Hanchar, Anatol Krasouski, Yury Zakharanka and journalist Zmitser Zavadski abducted in Belarus. It was also stated there that high-ranking Belarusian officials are suspected in these people’s abductions.

The leaflets also contained information about the Day of Belarusian Solidarity.

The young man was taken to the police department of Savetski district of Minsk. He was released in two hours after detention without a report being drawn up.
