In the conversation with a reporter of Interfax West agency P. Lyokhki noted that the date and the place of the meeting of the two presidents had been initially offered by the Russian side on December 1, when a decision to postpone the session of the supreme state council of the “union of Belarus and Russia” was adopted. “And on December 17in a phone talk the both presidents discusses a possible agenda and format of the meeting planned for December 22,” P. Lyokhki said.

“The leadership of Belarus was sorry to read met another rumour in Russian press,” the spokesperson of the Belarusian president said. “It is regretful that the dishonourable many year tradition of misinformation “leaks” with a reference to anonymous Kremlin sources on the eve of almost every meeting of Leaders of Belarus and Russia hasn’t been buried in memories of the past,” he noted. “Authors and disseminator of such “leaks” haven’t understood over these many years that by their actions they primarily derogate themselves,” P. Lyokhki underlined.
