Lukashenka Libeled all Small Businessmen “Profiteers”

Equal approach for doing business by small businessmen and enterprises should exist in Belarus, told Belarusian president Alyaksandr Lukashenka today at the meeting with students of the Belarusian State University, BELTA informs.

“It’s been not long since businessmen, so-called profiteers, had no way out, as there were no organized trading posts. Then I tried to switch the situation onto a civilized, normal track. We gave them considerable favors, preferences for some time, we protected them,” he told. Small businessmen liked it, they got used to it, and some of them started to work according to gray schemes, he added. And finally, for instance, Belarusian enterprises of light industry that produce high-quality goods have to compete with individual entrepreneurs that import goods of poor quality.

As said by Alyaksandr Lukashenka, this situation was to be changed. “I always believed that we should have done that a different way. The same approach should exist for everyone,” he stressed. That is why a decision has been taken that small businessmen can hire only close relatives, otherwise they should be re-register as private unitary enterprises.
