Attack on Charter’97 site
20- 25.04.2008, 15:09
Distributed denial of service attack targeted Charter’97 site at 2.20pm (Minsk time). The site was attacked by unknown abusers from the following IP addresses:
89.211.3.3
122.169.49.85
84.228.92.1
80.230.222.107
212.34.43.10
81.225.38.110
62.215.154.167
62.215.117.15
The access to the site was restricted during 10 minutes, but normal access to the site was restored. The DDoS attack stopped.
As the support staff thinks, it was a test attack and it may be repeated soon. Traditionally, the independent sites have problems with access ahead of important political events in Belarus. The authorities are apparently trying to block unwanted information. It should be reminded that Charnobyl Way is to begin at 2.00pm tomorrow, 26 April near the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
