Editor-in-chief of “Borisovskie Novosti” independent newspaper Anatol Bukas, a representative of the Euroepan List, who run in the election, was registered as an MP candidate in the Barysau city election district #62.
He was denied of registration because he put his net income together with income tax, though he needed to put general income. Bukas doesn’t understand what they were guided by, because the requirements were different at the last “parliamentary election” in 2004.
The editor-in-chief of “Borisovskie Novosti” noted a complaint against acting MP Viktar Huminski running in the election in the same district had been sent to the Central Election Committee. Members of his initiative group gathered signatures for his nomination at enterprises at worktime, by this they used administrative resources. However, it dint’ give a ground of non-registering of Huminski.
“The authorities don’t need me as a candidate. I run in all election campaigns, but the authorities find reasons not to allow me to become an MP. I think democratic activists should withdraw their candidatures, because we won’t have real “election”. Most members of district election commissions work at the same enterprise, a chief and his subordinates,” Anatol Bukas told in an interview to the Charter’97 press center.
