Expendable materials and medicines necessary during the outbreak of the disease have been delivered.
Aid from presidents of Belarus and Ukraine Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Viktar Yushchenko has been sent to flu and cold patients in Ivano-Frankovsk. As informed by the leader of Ukraine, this aid would be sent to the regional headquarters, BelaPAN informs.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Viktar Yushchenko had arrived in the western part of Ukraine which has been seriously affected by flu and acute respiratory viral infections.
As noted by the Belarusian ruler, this problem is faced not only by Ukraine, but has partially affected Belarus. However, Alyaksandr Lukashenka believes that much attention shouldn’t be paid to it. “It is not plague, an unstoppable virus. It is quite a curable illness. Flu sickness rate is already falling both in Belarus and Ukraine,” he said. “And the most dangerous disease is panic. Out of the medical diagnosis flu is becoming a political card,” added the President of Belarus.
In turn, Viktor Yushchenko underlined that with their visit the presidents had set a good example that panic must be avoided. Every country will manage its ordinary seasonal sickness. He also remarked that the problem is inflated and artificial and a lesson needs to be learned out of it.
We remind that in today’s Belarus, even according official data, the number of swine flu cases is 4.5 times higher than in Ukraine. However, all the medicines necessary for treating flu, including Tamiflu which cures A/H1N1 virus, are absent in pharmacies. There are no most necessary things like facial masks, oxolinic ointment and even ascorbic acid in Belarusian chemist's shops.
