How much do holidays of Belarusian dictator and his retinue cost?

49

The leader of the United Civil Party appealed the Prosecutor’s General Office in relation with Lukashenka’s tour to a Serbian resort.

Anatol Lyabedzka, leader of the United Civil Party (UCP), asks Prosecutor General Ryhor Vasilevich to “check all circumstances of holidays of Alyaksandr Lukashenka and his escort in Serbia to find out possible improper use of budget resources.”

A. Lyabedzka said he had sent an appeal to R. Vasilevich by registered mail.

The appeal notes that “many reports about A. Lukashenka and his huge retinue’s tour for holidays in Serbia have recently appeared in press. As it may be concluded from press, state resources were spent for the trip of officials-skiers and their families. There are grounds to suppose that staying of the big retinue is also paid by Belarusian taxpayers.”

“I also ask to give me information about a sum of holidays of about 40 best people of the country. Democratic countries always inform their citizens about expenses for the top echelon officials. In this case I just want to have information about use of budget resources,” A. Lyabedzka writes.

“Everyone has the right to have a holiday. Any Belarusian citizen has the right to choose place and time for their holidays. But there also exist laws, defining the limits for high ranking officials, and, finally, there are rules of morality of a state official,” the politician says.
