Militiamen destroy EU flags and banners “Lukashenka must resign!”

Youth activist was denied return her things, confiscated by militia during the search.

Yesterday night, militia major Chalei phoned activist of the civil campaign “European Belarus” Palina Dzyakava and invited her to appear in the Pershamaiski militia district to talk about a claim the girl filed after the search and detention ahead of opposition rally on Freedom Day march 25. The militiaman explained his militia department didn’t have any relation to the search in Palina Dzyakava’s apartment. However, the confiscated things – some portraits of political prisoners, posters, stickers, and books – could be noticed in the militiaman’s office.

To a logical question of the activist where he had the things, confiscated during the search, in the office from, militiaman Chalei said militiaman Apanasevich had found a pocket wit them in Kedyshka Street.

Chalei offered the girl to check the things and draw up a seizure report. Palina didn’t find a banner “Lukashenka must resign!” and an EU flag among the confiscated things.

The militiaman said all things seized would be destroyed.

It should be reminded officers of the Pershamaiski district militia department did the same with EU flags and portraits of disappeared politicians, seized from activist Paval Yukhnevich in February.
