Brest entrepreneurs not allowed meeting officials

18 representatives of the initiative group of entrepreneurs of the Brest region, who came to the regional council to demand improving working conditions, had to stay in the hall.

Entrepreneurs demanded to cancel a decision of the regional executive committee on prohibition of selling bear in stalls at bus stops. Only 2 of 20 entrepreneurs were invited in the office of Syarhei Ashmyantsau, chairman of the Brest regional council, Radio Racyja reports.

According to Viktar Chaikouski, deputy head of the Republican Public Association “Perspective”, Ashmyantsau has a visiting day today, he had not other people expect us to accept, and four conference rooms were free.

Entrepreneurs are indignant at the fact the authorities are so inaccessible. Moreover, the businessmen fulfil their condition – the initiative group came for the meeting.

According member of the initiative group Uladzimir Katrydzh, such measure to prevent alcoholism as prohibition of selling bear in stalls at bus stops is ineffective: bear and other alcoholic drinks can be bought in shops as much as one wants that was well demonstrated on Victory Day May 9.

As it was expected, the entrepreneurs found no support of the head of the regional council Ashmyantsau. Ashmyantsau thinks the actions by the regional executive committee were right, thought earnings of small entrepreneurs and salaries of sellers decreased two or three times. Some businessmen even had to close their stalls.
