Turmoil at Minsk airport

A delegation of Belarusian opposition politicians and the Belarus Free Theatre were flying today to Prague for the EU summit.

As Mikalai Khalezin told the Charter’97 press center, for candidate for presidency in Belarus Alyaksandr Kazulin was detained at the airport. he was surveyed carefully and allowed into the plane 5 minutes before departure.

“All officers worried as if something terrible had happened. Alyaksandr Kazulin, Stanislau Shushkevich, Alyaksandr Milinkevich and our Free Theatre were leaving. Kazulin was detained. He said: “I don’t understand myself what is going on, but this always happens. They are studying my documents carefully and sometimes even delay the flight.”
