Gleb Pavlovskky: “Lukashenka is like Kim Chen Ir”

Amid growing tension in the Belarusian-Russian relations Kommersant daily asked several politicians “Why is Lukashenka scolding?” They answers are not very pleasant for the Belarusian ruler.

Politologist Gleb Pavlovsky said:

– Lukashenka is like Kim Chen Ir and leaders of other states in difficult situations, they are able to go far looking for money and political protection, but this game has not perspective. He will probably come to senses soon and will apologize. We have seen this several times.

First deputy head of the Duma Agricultural Committee Nikolai Kharitonov attacked the Belarusian agriculture:

– Lukashenka got angry at Kudrin. But he shouldn’t offend at the ban on import of agricultural products. He is an agrarian and knows the most part of their milk products contains antibiotics.

Secretary general of the CIS Antiparliamentary Assembly Mikhail Krotov answere in the same vein as Lukashenka, who remarked that Russian vice premier Aleksei Kudrin should visit a doctor:

– Less hysterics, and everything will be all right.

But the comment of Alyaksandr Shatsko, deputy head of the Belarusian Public Movement “Belaya Rus”, member of the house of representatives, was the most remarkable. Belarusian officials usually give support all statements of the head of state. But now Shatsko supposed Lukashenka failed to cope with his nerves.

– The vivid infringement against sovereignty led Lukashenka to a breakdown. Belarus always performed the obligations even if it was not profitable for it. The scandal will hardly be long, reason will prevail over emotions.
