Actions in support of political prisoner Artsyom Dubski in regions (Photo)

Graffiti demanding to release Artsyom Dubski appeared in Hlubokae town (the Vitsebsk region).

Graffiti “Freedom to Dubski!”, “Young Front” and “Join Us!” were drawn on walls of houses in MKK town district and on the canning plant, mfront.net reports.

The local militia has already drawn up reports and begun questioning the witnesses.

We remind that “Young Front” activist Artsyom Dubski was arrested in the building of the district court of Asipovichy on July 7.

The oppositionist was found guilty of violation of the rules of serving punishment of restricted liberty. On April 22, 2008, Dubski was sentenced to two years of restricted liberty for participation in a rally of entrepreneurs in Minsk in January 2008. The youth activist had to left for Ukraine as militia officers had given him two far-fetched warnings for violation of the rules of serving. Dubski was detained on February 13, 2009, in Homel on his way to Minsk where he was going to take part in a street action on St Valentine’s Day. The oppositionist was guarded to a detention facility in Asipovichy (at his place of residence) and then transferred to a detention center in Babruisk. Dubski was released on his won recognizance on April 15.

The Case of 14 is a criminal case under article 342 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, instigated against participants of a peaceful rally of entrepreneurs held in Minsk on January 10, 2008.

14 youth activists were sentenced to different terms of restriction of liberty and imprisonment for participation in this rally. Amnesty International recognized participants of the Process of 14 Prisoners of Conscience in 2009.
