Portraits of political prisoner Dubski appeared in Minsk centre (Photo)

A campaign for release of Artsyom Dubski is held in Belarus. Young activists demand the authorities to stop persecution of the person involved in the Process of Fourteen.

In the framework of the campaign “Freedom to Dubski”, “Young Front” activists inform Minsk dwellers about the new political prisoner, mfront.net informs.

Pictures of Artysom Dubski have started to emerge in the centre of Minsk. Young activists paste them in busy spots of the city.

As we have informed, on July 7 an activist of the “Young Front” involved in the Process of Fourteen, Artsyom Dubski, was arrested in the court room of Asipovichy district court.

The oppositionist was found guilty of violation of the rules of serving punishment of restricted liberty. On April 22, 2008, Dubski was sentenced to two years of restricted liberty for participation in a rally of entrepreneurs in Minsk in January 2008. The youth activist had to left for Ukraine as militia officers had given him two far-fetched warnings for violation of the rules of serving. Dubski was detained on February 13, 2009, in Homel on his way to Minsk where he was going to take part in a street action on St Valentine’s Day. The oppositionist was guarded to a detention facility in Asipovichy (at his place of residence) and then transferred to a detention center in Babruisk. Dubski was released with w written undertaking not to leave the place on April 15.

The Case of 14 is a criminal case under article 342 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, instigated against participants of a peaceful rally of entrepreneurs held in Minsk on January 10, 2008.

14 youth activists were sentenced to different terms of restriction of liberty and imprisonment for participation in this rally. Amnesty International recognized participants of the Process of 14 Prisoners of Conscience in 2009.
