An action of solidarity with Mikalai Autukhovich, Yury Lyavonau, Uladzimir Asipenka, and Artsyom Dubski was held on Monday in the capital of Belarus.

As the website www.f-fight.org reports, activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus” held a picket near “Pushkinskaya” metro station.

The youth activists held a banner “Freedom to Political Prisoners!” The picket lasted for 15 minutes, militia didn’t interfere. The youth activist went away after the picket.

Actions of solidarity with political prisoners are held in Belarusian towns every day. On the 16th day of a month opposition activists hold Solidarity Day with victims of political repressions of Lukashenka.

We remind that Vaukavysk entrepreneurs Mikalai Autukhovich, Yury Lyavonau, and Uladzimir Asipenka have been kept in pre-trial detention center #1 for six months. Human rights activists consider the detained to be political prisoners drawing attention to the fact that Autukhovich and Lyavonau were convicted before and found prisoners of conscience by the international community.

“Young Front” activist Artsyom Dubski was sentenced to a year of imprisonment in a minimal security colony for violation of the rules of serving punishment in the Case of 14.

The Case of 14 is a criminal case under article 342 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, instigated against participants of a peaceful rally of entrepreneurs held in Minsk on January 10, 2008.

14 youth activists were sentenced to different terms of restriction of liberty and imprisonment for participation in this rally. Amnesty International recognized participants of the Process of 14 Prisoners of Conscience in 2009.
