Day of Belarusian Solidarity in Washington

The Belarus Free Theatre will show a performance in the Performing Arts Center in Washington Center. The play is based on the true story of Iryna Krasouskaya, whose husband was kidnapped and killed in Belarus.

The performance Discover Love was dedicated to the tenth anniversary of disappearance of vice speaker of the Supreme Council of Belarus Viktar Hanchar and businessman and public figure Anatol Krasouski.

After performing Discover Love, a picket in memory of the missing oppositionists, initiated by Iryna Krasouskaya, will be held in Washington. The widow of the disappeared public activist founded We Remember initiative, which aim is spreading information about politically motivated disappearances of people in Belarus and informing the world community about the situation in Belarus.

On September 15, the Belarus Free Theatre showed Generation Jeans, a semi-autobiographical monolog of a freedom fighter, who tells about his formation in the counter-cultural environment, which considered jeans and Western music symbols of freedom. The play had a great success.
