“Counter-evidence” of authorities: Pro-rectors are collecting signatures being on vacation

Interesting remarks of the Deputy Chairman of Homel Regional Election Commission were published in “Savetsky District” newspaper.
In the commentary about the run of the election campaign in the region Alyaksandr Vusau, in particular, remembered that the Regional Commission was examining a claim concerning allegedly illegal collecting of signatures of students of the Belarusian State University of Transport and being under the pressure from the side of the pro-rector of the University – head of the nomination group in Zheleznodorozhny district of Homel Galina Chayankava, “Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections” reports.
“A check showed that the pro-rector was actually collecting signatures, but she was doing it being on vacation, so she could not force students signing in subscription lists”, - the Deputy Chairman of the commission commented this fact.
Imagine such a picture – pro-rector is asking students to sign for Lukashenka, and they refuse, motivating it as follows: dear pro-rector, you are on vacations now, that is why we are not going to listen to you!
Alyaksandr Vusau remembered about another complaint, about which the “Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections” wrote – when the members of the nomination group of Vital Rymasheuski were not let in the dormitory of the Medical University. “It’s a pity, but there are enough overcautious persons, - sighed Vusau. –The administration of the dormitory changed its decision after the explanations and let organizing a picket in the foyer”, - the publication writes.
In truth, nobody offered the members of the nomination group to organize a picket in the foyer, thus, they left the dormitory, and the police that was called did not help.
According to Vusau, one can collect signatures in the dormitory, and those who are preventing it – are “overcautious persons”. It turns out, that there are many of them in Homel.
