Russia TV channel: Lukashenka makes his political collapse closer (Video)

26

The Kremlin decided to review the attitude towards the Belarusian dictator ahead of the upcoming presidential election.

Lukashenka builds his election campaign on anti-Russian rhetoric, Vesti (News) programme reports.

Presenting Russia as a new enemy can distract attention from inner problems. But Lukashenka seems not to think whether it is wise to strain relations with the closest among the country’s few allies.

Contrary to the tradition, the news item wasn’t censored in Belarus, so the whole country was able to watch it.

As NTV channel reported, the president of Russia turned to the Internet to be heard both in Russia and Belarus. Medvedev has already used his video blog to express his opinions on relations with neighbours and partners. The president, in particular, reminded how he explained to the Russians and Ukrainians last summer why he didn’t see prospects in a dialogue with Viktor Yushchenko. Today, this unpleasant problem of Russia and Ukraine has become a thing of the past.

The theme of the video message was defiant words and actions of Belarusian leader Lukashenka in regard to Russia and the country’s leadership.

Dmitry Medvedev doesn’t hide a position of the Belarusian president who presents Russia as an enemy makes the Kremlin to review its attitude towards the head of the fraternal state, especially in the run-up to upcoming election in Belarus. Having contacts with such a partner is difficult even on a personal level.
