The presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov has made an address on the Belarusian TV.
Addressing the nation at the First Channel of the Belarusian TV on November 24, the presidential candidate, the leader of “European Belarus” Andrei Sannikov offered Belarusians to imagine that democrats won the election, “the dictatorship is in the past”, “there are millions of people in the streets”, the state TV broadcasts live the celebrations, and Lukashenka fled to Venezuela in a private plane.
“There are only a few weeks left until the change of power,” Sannikov said.
“No more fear! The dictator and his retinue must fear us! […] Lukashenka calls us opposition, but he became opposition himself long ago, he is an opposition to the nation,” Sannikov is convinced.
Sannikov is sure that “Lukashenka has already lost.”
As said buy him, during the collection of signatures there was not a person near the stands of the incumbent president; teachers and kindergarten teachers were forcibly herded to pickets, but no one came to them. “Lukashenka does not have support of the people, he knows that. He had not even come to receive the certificates of presidential candidates. […] No one came to congratulate Lukashenka. Education Minister Radzkou, who received the certificate for him, left the Palace of Republic unnoticed, and not interesting to anyone,” the oppositional candidate noticed.
Addressing compatriots, the politician tried to explain why the incumbent president manages to retain power for 14 years, from the moment of conducting referendum on November 24, 1996, when, as said by the candidate, Lukashenka usurped power.
Firstly, Sannikov believes, “in late 1990ies the regime murdered the leaders who could go up against Lukashenka.” Secondly, the patience of the Belarusian nation. The authorities, as the candidate noted, have turned the people into the slaves of the contract system. “And Belarus has become a Potemkin Village, where everything is based upon lies, veneer and fear,” the politician underlined.
In case of his victory he promises that Belarus will become an inseparable part of Europe, and in a short time Belarusians would be able to go to the European Union without visas. And the European level of development would be reached in 7-8 years.
The first decree Sannikov wants to sign after his victory will be the decree to annul the contract system.
He promises to revive trade unions, evict Lukashenka’s ideology from school schedules. “The country needs patriots and citizens, not obedient slaves,” the candidate for presidency stated.
As said by him, the health system would be aimed at prevention of diseases; there will be no more ban and informational blockade for Chernobyl problem, Chernobyl allowances restored; the country will become comfortable for living of handicapped people; businessmen will be given possibilities to flourish, “they would not be suffocated by taxes and inspections”.
Addressing the police and the army, the candidate called upon them to observe laws, and then “respect to people in uniform will return.” Sannikov attracted attention of public sector employees to the fact that “the next government will need professionals as well”, and there are current officials among the members of the future government.
Andrei Sannikov is sure that Belarus has no problems in choosing between East and West. As said by him, the country “will move to Europe, maintaining strong relations of strategic partnership with Russia and reinforcing relations with Ukraine.” At the same time the candidate warned the countrymen that “if Lukashenka stays in power, prices for oil and gas are to become impossible for the country to pay.”
In the end of the address Andrei Sannikov urged Belarusians to defend their choice on December 19 on the Square:
“A woman came up to me at the meeting with voters in Baranavichy. She said:
- Everyone promises something, and what will you promise to me?
- And what do you want?
- I want to have a husband!
- It is the simplest thing. Come to the Square in Minsk on December 19 at 8 p.m. the best men in Belarus, strong and courageous, will be there.
All over the world it is customary after the closing of polling stations to wait for the results of the elections together and to welcome the victory of one’s candidate.
I know that Belarus has the most courageous men in the world and the most beautiful women.
We are making the history today. The history is being made by us, and together we will win!” stated the candidate for presidency in Belarus”.
