17

17.4% of the voters on electoral registers have voted during four days of early voting.

Interfax-Zapad news agency learnt this from the Central Election Commission (CEC.

“17.4% of the voters, which is 1,224,000 people, have voted early in Belarus during four days,” the CEC noted.

According to additional information, the turnout in the Brest region was 14.4%, in the Vitsebsk region – 25.9%, in the Homal region – 15.5%, in the Hrodna region – 20.5%, in the Minsk region – 15.2%, in the Mahilou region- 19.9%, in Minsk – 13.6%.

The turnout at the polling stations outside Belarus was 21%.

We remind that the early voting in Belarus is enforced. According to human rights activists, students, employees of state-run enterprises, and soldiers are forced to early voting. The reason is that it’s easier to falsify early voting results.
