Borys, you are right!

Attempts to educate the dictator lead to contrary results, dangerous both for the country and Europe.
Andrei Sannikov, the leader of the civil campaign European Belarus, told this to charter97.org commenting on arrests of and repressions against the leaders of the Union of Poles.
“Outrage towards the Union of Poles in Belarus is not the only case of repressions. This is a general years long policy of the regime of Lukashenka, aimed at demolition of human rights and freedoms in Belarus. It is not an occasion that persecution of the Polish minority coincides with stirring up Polish policy on establishing the so called dialogue with the dictatorial regime. Lukashenka again demonstrates that his aim is legalization of repressions against the people of Belarus in Europe,” Andrei Sannikov said.
Unfortunately, the European Belarus leader notes, Europeans lack courage to admit their policy of liberalization has completely failed.
“When Europe, with active participants of Polish politicians, started a dialogue with the dictatorship of Lukashenka, we were acknowledged it was aimed at improving the situation with democracy in Belarus. We see the results of this policy today. We express our solidarity with the activists of the Union of Poles – Andzelika Borys, Tereza Sobal, Mieczyslaw Jaskiewicz, Igor Bancer, Andrzej Poczobut, and many others.
Europeans should understand that the imprudent regime is not going to stop, but will continue tightening repressions against people of Belarus. In truth, Europe needs a new real strategy of relations with Belarus. Attempts to educate the dictator lead to contrary results, dangerous both for the country and Europe,” Sannikov believes.
According to him, crackdown of the yesterday’s youth action clearly demonstrates “hatred of the Belarusian authorities for everything alive, bright and free”.
“As said by Andzelika Borys, Lukashenka violates the rights of all Belarusians, pressure is being applied on NGOs and all people who have independent views.
The regime is evidently doomed to die as a historical absurdity. Our fight for freedom and solidarity of our friends around the world will allow us not only to withstand, but also to turn Belarus into a normal European state,” the European Belarus leader concluded.
