DDoS attack on charter97.org goes on

Dear visitors, hackers may use your computers to attack charter97.org.

The botnet involves a great number of Belarusian IP addresses. We use up-to-date traffic filtration systems to neutralize the attack and protect our server. Access for compromised computers will be blocked.

If you couldn’t open the site charter97.org yesterday or this morning, there’s a high possibility that your computer has been compromised and involved in a botnet. It is also possible that you are using a dynamic IP address, assigned by your Internet service provider, and it has been added to the blocklist because it was used for Internet access from another compromised computer. We strongly recommend that you should scan your computer for viruses.

The problem is not only that you cannot view the site charter97.org. Third parties can gain access to your personal data, archives, and files. You computer may be used to spying on you, compromising and committing crimes. Besides, you will have to pay for traffic, which is rather expensive in our country.

If you can’t buy licensed antivirus software and update it regularly or install free antiviruses, for instance Avast. If possible, try to use free open-source software and secure Internet browsers – Firefox, Chrome, Opera.
