Attack of "veterans" and special services against "Narodnaya Volya" (Photo)

A picket sanctioned by Minsk city executive committee was held in front of the editorial office of "Narodnaya Volya" newspaper.

About 30 persons protested against the article by Illya Kapyl "Nyabshyna. War" published by teh newspaper. According to picketers, told about the events of the Second Wolrd War (the Great Patriotic War) at the territory of Belarus falsely.

Руководил акцией председатель минской городской организации ветеранов Анатолий Адоньев. Участники держали транспаранты со словами «Долой клевету», «Нацизм не пройдет, «Позор фальсификаторам истории», «Середич! не позволим унижать ветеранов», «Победили врагов - победим клеветников».

The action was orchestrated by the chairman of Minsk city branch of veterans' organisation, Anatoly Adonyeu. Participants were holding posters with the words: "NO to libel", "Down with Nazism", "to history falsificators!", "Syaredzich! We won't tolerate veterans' humiliation", "We have won enemies -- we'll win libellers".

Then they entered the office with their posters and headed to the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Iosif Syaredzich. But he was out of office, and the managing editor Svyatlana Kalinkina met the veterans. She promised that the veterans would be offered a possibilty to publish their opinion at the pages of the newspaper.

Special services officers in mufti and representatives of state-run media observed the rally which lasted about 15-20 minutes. Their behaviour was discourteous, they entered the news office with video cameras.
